Providers can now preview their star rating quarterly, two weeks before they go live

Aged care providers can now preview their Star Ratings two weeks before they go live on My Aged Care.

Providers can preview their overall Star Rating and the Star Rating for each sub-category.

The data will be available on the Government Provider Management System, the Government’s online system for aged care providers.

The Star Ratings provider preview gives providers the opportunity to:

  • review their Star Ratings
  • fix any errors in self-reported Quality Measures data
  • report any IT or technical errors, and
  • communicate with staff and residents about their Star Ratings and any planned improvement activities.

If a provider believes the Quality Measures rating is not consistent with self-reported data, they should check the submitted data. To fix incorrect Quality Measures data, providers can access the self-service section of the My Aged Care portal.

Staffing data for specified care workers cannot be amended during the provider preview period. Prior to the preview, providers were able to review staffing data submitted as part of the Quarterly Financial Report and make amendments as required.

Residents’ Experience data cannot be contested as it is provided by a third party.

If a provider believes data used for the Compliance Rating is incorrect, they should contact the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission on 1800 951 822 or email info@agedcarequality.gov.au.

If a provider is concerned that incorrect data was used to calculate their Star Ratings, they can call the My Aged Care service provider and assessor helpline on 1800 836 799 to request a review of the rating.
