Toby Hall has left his role as Group CEO of St Vincent’s Health Australia (SVHA) after eight years of leading Australia’s third largest provider of public and private hospitals and aged care homes.
“Mr Hall has led the organisation with our founding mission at heart, and in doing so, has made a particular contribution to expanding St Vincent’s Health’s services to support vulnerable communities and those affected by poverty, mental illness, homelessness, and drug and alcohol abuse,” said Chair Paul McClintock AO.
“He has also led the expansion of a number of our health precincts, including the extensive development of the St Vincent’s Health Precinct Sydney, the expansion of St Vincent’s Private Hospital Toowoomba, the building of Griffith and Werribee Hospitals, and the planned re-development of the Fitzroy Campus in Melbourne. He has also overseen significant growth in our aged care division.”
Mr Hall said that SVHA had finished 2021 ranked by patients as the highest performing private hospital group in Australia, while St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne was acknowledged as Australia’s best public hospital.
“We have developed an excellent new strategy and I feel now is a good time to leave and to hand over for the next generation of leadership,” he said.
Mr Hall, a qualified accountant with a MBA, was appointed to the role in April 2014. Previously he was CEO of Mission Australia, COO of World Vision Australia and CEO of South Taranaki District Council on the west coast of New Zealand's North Island.
