The Victorian Government has completed its upgrade of the Creswick Nursing Home near Ballarat in the state’s west.
The redevelopment was carried out in two stages: the first involved the construction of a $3.2 million 12-bed dementia support unit (above) and was completed in 2020, and the second, finished this year, constructed 12 extra ensuite bedrooms plus amenities including a dining and kitchen area, a library and a landscaped courtyard.
“It is our priority to provide older Victorians with the best possible care in modern and comfortable settings and the upgrade at Creswick Nursing Home will ensure that can happen both now and into the future,” said Minister for Disability, Ageing and Carers Colin Brooks (pictured). “The upgraded facility will also ensure dedicated staff can operate in better and more efficient surroundings.”
The Victorian Government has poured funding into its publicly-owned aged care services in recent years, with more than $320 million spent in the state’s rural and regional areas since 2014.
