A 319-home gated village with extensive facilities for Over 50s is being planned by developer Aaron Solito on 28 hectares of land at Zilzie, a coastal community 685km northwest of the Brisbane CBD.

The village includes a community centre, cinemas, a sauna, indoor heated pool, bowling green, billiards room, tennis courts and RV parking.

Mr Solito, who has owned the land for 15 years, sees the demographic of potential residents to be couples and singles without children.

“There is nothing like that currently around the Central Queensland region, they are very popular … Being able to live in the community with like-minded individuals.”

“There are so many benefits for this type of development and that’s why they are so popular now,” said Mr Solito.

“There is confidence in the market, it is the strongest market since 2009,” he said.

The development has been split into five stages and is pending council approval.
