Stockland entered into a partnership with the Catholic Diocese of Broken Bay to redevelop its Our Lady Help of Christians Church and School at Epping, 22km from the CBD.
Stockland’s plan is to build a 29-storey complex including a 132-bed Opal aged care home, a Stockland retirement village of 205 apartments, a multi-level primary school, child care, renovation and additions to the heritage Catholic church, four church presbytery units, a church hall and administration, and parking for 30 cars.
At a height of 96 metres it exceeds the local limits by 34%. But the primary assessment officer from Parramatta Council, executive planner Alex McDougall, says the design review panel are okay with the height.
