Tim Russell and Mark Taylor’s Aura Holdings has opened stage one of Somerset Indooroopilly, the luxury retirement living community built within Brisbane’s Indooroopilly Golf Course, 8km west of Brisbane’s CBD.

At prices ranging from $750,000 to $1.6 million, with prices on application for the penthouses, 80 apartments have opened in the first stage of Somerset Indooroopilly. There are four penthouses in each stage. Two have sold in stage one and two have sold off-plan in stage two.

Each of the two stages, built by Woollam Constructions and designed by Cox Architecture, are set across four low-rise buildings. Construction on the final stage is due to begin this year, adding another 88 apartments and penthouses with views across the parkland course.

Residents share community facilities including an indoor pool and spa, gymnasium, yoga studio, wine room, library, private dining room, café, outdoor barbecue areas, and consultation suites for allied health professionals.

Mr Taylor, a director, said the retirement village had successfully survived the recent East Coast flood.

“Somerset was constructed on a high point above previous flood levels and the dam wall was raised one metre. We are pleased that residents and the village remained high and dry during February’s flooding and things worked out as expected,’’ he said.
