Aura’s vertical golf course retirement village strategy building pace

1 min read

Construction work has started on Aura Holdings’ 79 unit The Ninth Middle Ridge retirement community at Toowoomba Golf Club in Queensland’s largest inland city, 132 km from Brisbane (pictured right)

At the same time demand has led Aura Holdings to fast-track Stage Two of its Somerset Indooroopilly retirement village under construction within Brisbane’s Indooroopilly Golf Course after the popularity of Stage One.

Large golf club JV developments are gaining pace. RetireAustralia has opened its first vertical village at Burleigh on Queensland’s Gold Coast.

The five level The Verge, which is located alongside the 10th fairway at Burleigh Golf Club.

In Sydney, Watermark Living’s four level 102 unit / $107M Chatswood Golf Club, 10km north of Sydney’s CBD, has received redevelopment approval.

In each case the village development has been a lifesaver for golf clubs in financial difficulty, with declining membership and ageing club facilities.
