The Not For Profit Victorian organisation’s aim to create a new seniors’ living health and ageing precinct in Gisborne in the state’s Macedon Ranges has had a boost.
After pausing the development of The New Oaks due to issues with supply chain and resourcing in the construction industry pushing the tender price significantly higher than estimated, Benetas has seen its bid to rezone land for a new retirement living facility progress in Council.
The provider wants to spend $30 million to provide housing for assisted living units and a retirement village, including a communal clubhouse facility.
Macedon Ranges Shire Council approved that the rezoning plan went to public consultation.
“We are continuing to explore different options to help us get construction moving as soon as possible, and remain committed to delivering both of these projects for the Macedon Ranges community in the future,” said Benetas in a statement last month.
