Bushland Health lodges huge retirement living expansion plans on NSW Mid-North Coast

The provider, which was created in 2008 when Manning Valley Senior Citizens Homes changed its name, is already a significant deliverer of care services.

It already operates six retirement villages and three residential care homes. Now Bushland Health is seeking concept approval for its development masterplan of the 22.8ha Manning Rise Village, west of Taree, 320km north of Sydney.

When complete it will have approximately 250 independent living units, a 100-bed aged care facility and a major Village Centre. It states this would be developed over the next two to three decades.

Its $133 million proposal before the Hunter and Central Coast Regional Planning Panel also seeks approval for the Stage One development of 207 two- and three-bedroom seniors ‘self-care dwellings’, in duplexes.

Recreation and support services, such as 24-hour support and emergency response, nursing-care arrangement and home-delivered meals, would be provided with Bushland Health’s Warrana Place village.

It is also in the planning process to build an independent living vertical retirement village Fig Trees on the Manning, with 2 x 24 units, 3-storey towers with river frontage.

“These plans are well developed and interest through word-of-mouth contacts has been strong.  We have created a waiting list of those who have expressed an interest and whom we will contact once further details are available,” said Bushland Health on its website.
