Not For Profit organisation Fresh Hope has commenced construction on its $33.5 million purpose-built retirement village in Kiama, 45km south of Wollongong in NSW, after receiving council approval.
Constructed by Ganellen, the 56-apartment village will be spread across three- and four-storey buildings, with a range of communal spaces and community facilities incorporated into the design.
The NSW arm of Churches of Christ, Fresh Hope Care, currently operates eight retirement villages and eight aged care homes in regional and metro locations across NSW.
Construction is expected to be finished by early 2023 with pricing for apartments yet to be finalised, The Illawarra Mercury reported.
They are also building Australia’s largest village, a 900 home ‘flagship’ development in Pendle Hill, 30km west of the Sydney CBD.
The buildings will rise up to eight storeys and replace 86 units over six single-storey buildings on the site, which is the current site of the Pendle Hill Retirement Village.
