New seniors living development planned next door to Calvary aged care home on Sydney’s Northern Beaches

A new $17.5 million seniors living development has been proposed for Belrose on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.

The “Belrose Pavilions” development on Forest Way, designed by architect Barry Rush and Associates, will comprise 35 dwellings split between 12 two-bedroom units, 22 three-bedroom units, and one four-bedroom unit; communal areas and a 72-space basement car park will also be included.

According to the development application, the design mimics Calvary’s (formerly Japara’s) Corymbia aged care facility, located next door.

“Design cues have been taken from the recently approved and constructed residential care facility ‘Japara’ located directly to the south of the subject property at No. 169 Forest Way, Belrose, with the land use, general form, scale and landscape outcomes proposed consistent with those established by this immediately adjoining development,” it read.

The plans are currently under consideration by Northern Beaches Council, with public comment open until 24 January.
