Ocean Club Resort at Lake Cathie has largest tarred RV park in NSW and huge plans

In January 2013, the Tieck and Gilmour families’ first joint land lease venture was a pioneer in NSW by building slab on ground houses within a land lease community.

Back then, Ocean Club Resort at Lake Cathie, Port Macquarie, on the NSW Mid North Coast, sold its first home for $300,000. Now it is completing civil works for its final 48 lots of houses to complete the 306-home village with 15 houses underway.

The partnership has started bulk earthworks on the 114 lots-site luxury Ocean East precinct adjoining the gated community which will result in a total of 420 dwellings.

John Gilmour told The Weekly SOURCE that initial village designs were based on high end Queensland land lease communities, built slab on ground with wide roads, heavily landscaped streetscapes, 5 star hotel facilities and “high-end” homes. It also has the biggest tarred RV area, capable of housing 50 RVs.

“We have gone slowly but surely. We travelled up and down the East Coast before deciding on Lake Cathie. It has gone extremely well and the prices the homes are fetching is making our homeowners particularly happy,” said John, who is the director of Huntingdale Properties.

“The latest house sales are $790,000, $840,000, $850,000 and $885,000 for a three-bedroom home, two bathrooms, media room and double garage.”

Sean and John also have approval to build a 323-lot land lease community on 47ha at Wauchope.

“Ocean Country Club Wauchope site has the potential to be developed into 700 lots making it the biggest in NSW,” added John.
