Serenitas launches new land lease community in Far North Queensland

1 min read

Land lease operator Serenitas has launched its overhauled Thyme lifestyle resort at Mareeba in Far North Queensland.

The new resort is one of three Serenitas sites opening in the next few months, and is a redevelopment of the Savannah retirement village; upgrades including a gym refit have already been completed, with further construction this year to include a clubhouse and landscaping.

Serenitas spokesperson Andrew Watkins told the Cairns Post that Thyme Mareeba will be one of the company’s flagship communities, and “significant additional investment” is planned.

“As a location we saw the benefits of Mareeba’s comparatively low rainfall and humidity, acknowledging why many consider it as Far North Queensland’s best climate.

“Many of our homeowners have existing links with the area, some have lived in the Tablelands their whole life while others are returning home or looking to move closer to family,” he said.

Up to 170 homes are planned for the site, with two-bedroom homes starting at $442,000.
