Tasmanian Council approves 216-lot land lease community

1 min read

After lodging a development application in March, Tony Parkes has been given approval to build the proposed 216-lot Seabrook Lifestyle Estate off the Bass Highway in the rural locality Doctors Rocks on Tasmania’s northwest coast.

The over 55s land lease resort will be a gated community complete with a large clubhouse, indoor heated swimming pool, bowling greens, golf driving nets, pickleball court and putting green. There will also be a workshop, communal vegetable gardens, picnic and BBQ facilities.

Waratah-Wynyard Council approved the development, stating it will help ease the local housing shortage and cater for the demands from an ageing population.

“Seabrook Lifestyle Estate features larger home sites of around 315 square metres to 480 square metres, compared to similar estates which are typically around 250 square metres,” Tony said.

“The larger sites will provide residents with greater space, separation from neighbours and privacy …. plus provide the opportunity for an attached oversized carport or garage for a caravan, motorhome, boat or workshop space.”
