Bachrach Naumburger Group has officially opened The Shoreline, its new luxury retirement village with co-located aged care at Coffs Harbour, NSW.
The $150 million development in the state’s north has completed its first stage, including 77 independent living apartments – of which 80% have been sold – and a 120-bed aged care home; further apartments and villas are still under construction, and the development when complete will feature a total of 185 independent living residences.
According to Brett Kelly, General Manager of The Shoreline (pictured), the “seamless” continuum-of-care offering has been a major drawcard for new residents.
“What we’ve heard time and time again is that they love the cohesion and communal spaces that the aged care home and the independent living components share.
“So, if they’re currently in the independent living part of the precinct, they feel assured knowing that if their or their partner’s needs change as they age, it will be an easier transition into aged care living, because the two components of the precinct work cohesively together,” he said.
Continuum-of-care has been increasingly popular in recent years, championed by operators such as Ryman Healthcare.
