Every apartment in RFBI’s affordable housing for women over 55 in NSW Mid North Coast snapped up

1 min read

It has taken six years since the plan was first conceived and now CEO Frank Price is a happy man.

The 23 one-bedroom affordable apartments for women over 55 facing homelessness in Watson Place, Bellingen, 547km north of Sydney, is through Bellorana, a subsidiary of Royal Freemasons’ Benevolent Institution (RFBI), donating the land, the NSW Government paying $5 million and the Australian Government $5 million to pay for its construction.

"The benefit these 23 new affordable housing units bring to older single women and the Bellingen community is significant," said Frank (pictured).

“We have had local community members reach out to us wanting to provide house warming gifts for our new residents and very generous donations from our business partners and local businesses”.

All 23 apartments have been taken and the women are expected to move in early next month.
