The ‘supertower’ proposed for Southport by Gold Coast developer Azzura would be the tallest building in the Southern Hemisphere if approved.
The village would be included in its 50,000sqm Imperial Square, which will sit on a six-storey podium and boast a five-star hotel, student accommodation, medical centre, gyms, theatres, church, service station and more.
Azzura has been a Gold Coast developer since the 1980s and is led by Robert Badalotti.
They built the Surfers Paradise Azzura Resort tower and Azzura Greens on Hope Island.
The Council is due to vote on the proposal later this year, but the first stage was already approved in December 2016.
