Police officer Kristian White faces court after allegedly Tasering Clare Nowland causing death

Senior Constable Kristian White has appeared in person in court for the first time after allegedly Tasering 95-year-old Clare Nowland at the Yallambee Lodge aged care facility in May this year.

Clare later died from the injuries she sustained after falling following the alleged Tasering.

The Supreme Court imposed a bail condition that the police officer appear in court in person after he attended his last mention by video link.

On 6 September, Senior Constable White appeared in court to face charges of recklessly causing grievous bodily harm, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and common assault, The Canberra Times has reported.

Magistrate Roger Clisdell granted the police officer’s request to appear via video link for his next court appearance on 4 October.

Yallambee Lodge, in Cooma, 100km south of Canberra, is likely to be transferred to Respect Aged Care to operate.
