The operator, jointly owned by New Zealand based infrastructure investor Infratil and NZ Super, is continuing expansion.
The final stage of The Verge at Burleigh, Gold Coast, opened in May this year and The Weekly SOURCE can reveal it is expanding three existing retirement villages:
-
Caryle Gardens Retirement Village, Bargara, Bundaberg: 38 new independent living villas, a new entry statement and sealed road, reconfiguration and reinstatement of the village’s community garden, along with improvements to the community centre and village infrastructure;
-
Queens Park Retirement Village, Waverley, Sydney: The refurbished village will have six independent living units and 36 serviced apartments; and
-
Tarragal Glen, Erina, Central Coast, NSW: Additional 42 independent living apartments to its biggest retirement village.
“This is part of a deliberate program to optimise our existing portfolio alongside developing new communities with the goal of delivering benefits to both our residents and our shareholders,” said CEO Brett Robinson, the new head of World Rugby.
The operator also announced the first of two tower cranes has gone up at its newest and 30th retirement village, Arcadia Retirement Living, close to the heritage-listed Yeronga Memorial Park, in Yeronga, 6km from Brisbane's CBD. Hutchinson Builders has almost completed the earthworks.
Arcadia Retirement Living will offer 159 independent living apartments, designed to the Australian Livable Housing Gold Standard, with home care services and a 10-suite care hub to support ageing in place.
