Ingenia Lifestyle prepared to spend $10M on a second “community hub”

1 min read

The clientele that the ASX-listed operator wants to attract to its development Nature’s Edge at Forest Glen near Buderim on the Queensland Sunshine Coast is a far cry from the community clubs built 20 years ago.

Ingenia is spending $10 million on a second “community hub”. Built by McNab Construction, it will feature a resort-style outdoor pool and spa, yoga and Pilates space, gym and change rooms, sauna, hairdressing salon, shared kitchen, barbecue area, dining room, quiet retreat space and a social space anchored by a bar and balcony with rainforest views.

This is in addition to the existing clubhouse’s leisure centre, which features a 20m heated indoor pool and spa, tennis and bocce court, gym, cinema room, library and salon.

The land lease community has 265 homes, with 300 properties being built upon completion.

Ingenia Communities portfolio manager Nicole Jentz said Ingenia is progressing plans for a second Ingenia Lifestyle community in the Nambour area.

“We believe creating our communities will not only accommodate an increasing demographic of older Australians but provide the kind of lifestyle and amenities that they desire – whether they are locals wanting to simplify or downsize, or new arrivals chasing the kind of lifestyle the Sunshine Coast offers,” she said.

The SOURCE: While village operators seem happy with its clients being on average 75 years when entering, land lease operators are actively chasing those over 60.
