The approved $13.1 million development over four lots for 10 apartments for over 55s in Collaroy, 22km northeast of Sydney’s CBD, was rejected by Northern Beaches Council after community opposition.

The applicant Collaroy Living successfully appealed in the NSW Land and Environment Court in June 2024 and then submitted a modified application directly to the court in August last year.

These homes will be demolished.

Collaroy Living sought to:

  • internally and externally reconfiguring the ground and first floors, including changes to windows;

  • extending the front and rear of the ground and first floors;

  • changing the roof and skylights;

  • amending the carpark exhaust; and

  • amending external finishes.

The appeal was upheld by the court on 26 February 2025.
