Estia Health breaks ground on new 124-bed aged care home in Adelaide

The private operator has held a groundbreaking ceremony to mark the start of construction on its latest residential aged care facility in Findon, 9km northwest of Adelaide.

As we have reported, Estia Health lodged the plans for the site, which was one of two development sites that its purchased in its acquisition of Premier Health Care in 2022, in early 2024.

Located at 46-52 Crittenden Road, the two-storey home will feature five self-contained care wings, each with their own dining and lounge areas, activity rooms, and access to landscaped outdoor spaces.

The groundbreaking ceremony, held on Thursday, 17 April, was attended by community representatives including South Australian Senator Karen Grogan.

Estia Health CEO Sean Bilton (pictured top right and below) said the new home will help address increasing demand for aged care in the area.

“We are excited to mark the construction of our new home in Adelaide, which will provide much-needed aged care services to the local community,” Sean said.

“This will be our 20th home in South Australia, enabling us to support approximately 2,000 older South Australians each year.”

Construction partner Mossop Construction + Interiors is managing the build, with the new home expected to be completed by mid-2026.

Estia Health has also been on the hunt for acquisitions in recent months, acquiring two homes from the Mark Moran Group in March this year, seven homes from David Di Pilla’s Aurrum Aged Care in January 2025, and three Queensland homes from Calvary Health Care in November 2024.

Estia Health has over 10,000 residents and more than 12,000 staff across 85 homes.
