IRT modifies State Significant Development plan for Woonona Senior Housing in NSW South Coast

1 min read

The Not For Profit has concluded its second round of consultations in the process to redevelop the seniors living community in Illawarra’s northern suburbs.

It followed a review of community feedback on IRT’s preliminary redevelopment plans solicited in August last year, together with input from the NSW State Design Review Panel, which helped inform updates to the original plan.

People who went to the first session will notice changes from the preliminary plan to the overall design and presentation of the development.

These include architectural improvements to the building facades and an increase in the overall outdoor living space between buildings. Designs for the upgrade of the existing IRT Flametree aged care building have also been refined with input from staff, residents and their families.

At this stage, about 93 homes, including a mix of two- and three-bedroom units, are proposed.
