Nicola Roxon, a Non Executive Director of Lifestyle Communities, has just been appointed Chair of the Super Members Council of Australia (SMC), which combines two industry bodies – Industry Super Australia and Australian Institute of Superannuation Trustees.
She is also Chair of Hesta and VicHealth appointed Chair of the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW).
Ms Roxon has been a leading woman in politics:
- Minister for Health and Ageing from 2007 to 2011.
- Attorney-General from 2011 to 2013.
- Minister for Emergency Management from 2012 to 2013.
“The nature of work and the workforce itself are changing, as are patterns and expectations in retirement. As many members’ balances grow, those in lower paid or less secure work risk being left behind,” she said.
She resigned from being Chair of aged care provider Bupa in June 2019 after being appointed in March 2018.
