Montefiore has $83M plan to complete site in Randwick, Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs

1 min read

With M by Montifore, opened in November 2020 proving a magnet for residents, the Not For Profit wants to add another 37 independent living units, 12 residential aged-care beds, ground-floor retail, basement carpark and a village plaza to complete its site, 6km southeast of Sydney's CBD.

The five-storey development would expand the existing facility of 276 single rooms on the 2.94ha site plans by architects Jackson Teece show.

Sir Moses Montefiore Jewish Home already has a development approval for the site.

“The exclusive delivery of RCF (Residential Care Facility) beds is not suitable with respect to Randwick’s aging demographic profile nor the emerging preference for supportive living environments that do not compromise wellbeing or independence,” the application said.

In addition, Montefiore has lodged a planning proposal over its ageing Hunters Hill facility with Hunters Hill Council to be considered by NSW (New South Wales) Department of Planning as part of a gateway determination process.
