The Camperdown public aged care home, 190km west of Melbourne, will cost $39.6 million to build and will feature 36 single rooms with ensuites and the 'small household model' design.

Ingrid Stitt MP

Commenced in November 2023, the home is on track to be completed in 2025.

Ground works and the building frame on the facility are complete, and work on the roof and façade installation now underway. The builder is Nicholson Construction, with architect ClarkeHopkinsClarke.

The Member for Western Metropolitan Melbourne, Ingrid Stitt, Minister for Ageing, said, "With views of the clocktower, this new 36-bed facility will provide residents a home-like setting that promotes dignity, privacy, and independence and will enable staff to continue to provide high-quality care and support.”

The development is part of the Victorian Government's Regional and Rural Public Sector Residential Aged Care Services Revitalisation Strategy aimed at modernising ageing facilities in regional areas of the state. The new facilities are intended to better meet community expectations and enable contemporary models of care.
