Alzheimer’s Queensland lodges DA for three-storey Brisbane aged care home

1 min read

Alzheimer's Queensland has lodged a Development Application for the 48-bed redevelopment of Rosalie Nursing Care Centre, in Paddington, 4km west of the Brisbane CBD.

The proposed 48-bed residential aged care facility will be located at 18-22 Howard Street, Paddington, and designed by Bligh Graham Architects.

The three-storey home will replace the existing residential aged care home, which is currently for women only, and multiple other dwellings on the 3,596sqm site.

The proposal includes four separate ‘houses’ providing communal facilities for the residents that consist of a dining room, living room, outdoor areas and sitting rooms.

In addition to Rosalie Nursing Care Centre, Alzheimer's Queensland operates three other aged care homes - Garden City Aged Care in Upper Mt Gravatt (Brisbane South), 61-bed Windsor Aged Care Services in inner city Brisbane, and three-storey McNally House also in Mt Gravatt.

The Rosalie Nursing Care Centre site redevelopment project has been put to public consultation by Brisbane City Council. The plans are available here.
