Paul Singer's retirement communities Mount Gilead Estate, Gibraltar Park and Camden Grove in Sydney's southwest region are significant successes.
Singer has around 30 years experience in village development and operations. Mount Gilead has grown from scratch to be one of the largest retirements villages in Australia. Now his company, HT Retirement, wants to expand into Queensland.
HT Retirement has applied to City of Moreton Bay to build 97 independent living units for retirees in a three-storey apartment complex on the disused Frawley's Tennis Club in Rothwell, 28km north of Brisbane’s CBD (Central Business District).
The SOURCE reported in August 2021 that Queensland developer Austpec Communities was seeking an extension to its approval to build a three-storey 147-bed aged care and respite facility on the site.
Paul's proposed retirement living community would include a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, along with a mix of indoors and outdoors amenities.
The complex will have a gross floor area of 10,758sqm.
