Phase 1 of the new arrangements – which would have seen providers not receiving an funding for their home care clients until June 2020 – have been “placed on hold” due to the current situation and “the key role of the aged care sector to help combat this virus”, according to the Department of Health.
The Department says it will now consult with the home care sector to help determine when the changes can recommence – in the meantime, the current advance and claim payment cycle with Services Australia will continue.
