Only in SATURDAY: Community Home Australia (CHA) weighs up Bali ‘village’ for Aussie expats

The ink is barely dry on the deposit for its first international resort in Bali, but the innovative dementia care and disability provider already sees further opportunities to expand into accommodation for the growing Australian expat community.

As we reported last week, CHA has purchased the 3.5 star Aashaya Jasri Resort (pictured) in Karangasem on the east coast of Bali – with the aim of offering people living with dementia and other neurocognitive conditions the chance to travel to the island nation.

But the provider is also considering more permanent accommodation offerings.

“We’ve already been approached by a group of Australian expats who have retired there but are concerned they’re all in their early 60s and there is no health service like an aged care home for them over there. They have asked us about offering accommodation in a village like a retirement village,” said CHA co-founder and Managing Director, Dr Rodney Jilek.
