Gaynes Park Manor is one of seven retirement villages bought by Torrens Health, which is rolling out a new retirement living brand Torrens Retirement Services.
Designed by architects Marchese Partners I Life3A and built by Adelaide-based Mossop Construction and Interiors, the units were originally priced from $550,000 for a one-bedroom and from $865,000 for two bedrooms in May 2021.
Stopping by for a tour last week with Sales and Property Manager, Glenys Brooks (pictured right with DCM Group Editor Lauren Broomham), prices have continued to climb with one-bedrooms now going from $600,000 and two bedrooms from $980,000.
The two-bedroom apartment we toured had just sold for $1.4 million, up from $1.125 million three years ago.
5km northeast of the Adelaide CBD, Gaynes Park Suites has a lengthy waiting list for its 37 independent living apartments.
Glenys says many buyers come from larger properties in regional areas and are attracted by the on-site services which are divided into four options: Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum . They provides a range of options for cleaning, laundry and meals.
Silver and Gold, which includes one chef-prepared meal a day, are the most popular options with many residents choosing to enjoy lunch or dinner in the restaurant (pictured below), which is also open to family and friends.
Torrens Health has also maintained the Life Care model of sharing capital gains with outgoing residents.
