The six-year-old aged care home in Flora Hill, 3km southeast of Bendigo, 150km northwest of Melbourne's CBD, has 66 beds all with an ensuite bathroom, and a dedicated Memory Support wing.
mecwacare, a Victorian Not For Profit aged care and disability services provider, already acquired three residential aged care homes from Royal Freemasons in Ballarat, Bacchus Marsh and Gregory Lodge (Flemington) and retirement living sites Berwick Brae Village and Canadian Pines in Ballarat in June last year.
The ownership transfer of Flora Hill is expected to take place in May 2024.
Earlier this month, Tasmanian-based Not For Profit Respect Aged Care announced it had taken over the ownership and management of two Royal Freemasons aged care homes in Moe, a town 130km east of Melbourne's CBD, and Sale, the city 212km east of Melbourne's CBD.
Royal Freemasons, which has also sold its aged care homes and retirement villages to Aveo Group and Estia Health, announced in October 2022 that it would sell off residential care and retirement living assets, with all its residential aged care homes but the 192-bed Coppin Centre in Melbourne on the market.
