Andrew Sweeney, Co-Founder of the Greengate Group, has been appointed Executive General Manager, Strategic Property Development for the NSW and ACT-based Not For Profit.

“He will be responsible for leading RSL LifeCare in the delivery of our property development goal to enrich veterans and seniors’ lives by creating vibrant and inclusive communities that foster social interaction and encourages an active and healthy lifestyle.” RSL LifeCare said on LinkedIn.

“He will also lead the development of our Future Development Plan and the establishment of robust governance and processes around property.”

Andrew founded Greengate Group with Howard Smith and Matthew Fisher in 2004. The business, including three vertical co-located retirement village and residential aged care buildings, was bought by Australian Unity in June 2021 for $65 million.

He is Co-Founder and Director of energy transition development and investment company Bluepoint, and a Director of community housing provider Wentworth Housing, which has 6,300 social and affordable dwellings.

He also is a business advisor to Darzin, which develops enterprise software used by Corporates, Governments and Community Consultation practitioners in Australia, NZ, EU, UK, and USA.

RSL LifeCare, a charitable organisation, cares for over 7,500 residents in 28 retirement villages and 27 aged care homes across NSW and the ACT.
