Mable expands into consumables with launch of e-commerce site

1 min read

The innovative support worker platform founded by Peter Scutt and Tony Charara in 2014 continues to disrupt the home care space, launching Mable Direct to deliver consumable products such as personal protection equipment (PPE) direct to clients and support workers.

Chief Growth Officer at Mable, Matthew Cavalier (pictured), said the new website was in direct response to demand from its online communities.

“From our research, 82% of clients and 70% of support workers told us that they use consumables on a daily basis. And over half of these people are taking time out of their support packages to visit a physical store to purchase these products,” he said.

“By purchasing online through Mable Direct, people can spend more of their support hours doing things they enjoy rather than lining up in stores. When it comes to tax time, all your invoices will also be in one handy place.”

Launched in October, Mable Direct currently offers three different value packs priced at $99 (saving $80.36), $145 (saving $166.10) or $199 (saving $270.55) which contain products such as aprons, hand sanitiser, face shields, and more.

Matthew told The Weekly SOURCE that the site will now be moved to a new platform to offer a better e-commerce experience with plans to expand the range into other products such as nutrition, wearables, mobility devices and more.

“Online prescriptions would be another area,” he said. “People spend a lot of time going to the chemist to pick up their prescriptions so again having them delivered direct to your house makes sure you’re not spending time on administration.”

Mable has previously branched out into the self-managed Home Care Package market, launching a platform called HomeMade in 2021, the same year that it secured a $100 million investment from global private equity firm General Atlantic.
