Anglicare Sydney pledges to reimburse study debt after one year’s service

Anglicare Sydney has launched a new program to support nurses – it will pay off student debt for employee nurses after one year of study. The new program already has more than 100 interested trainee nurses.

Anglicare Sydney’s Chief Executive, Residential Care Maryann Curry GAICD launched the program on International Nurses Day last week.

Anglicare Sydney already has a scholarship program in place for care workers and nurses, and currently has five scholarship holders.

Aged care providers are struggling to attract enough staff, prompting them to explore innovative ways to attract new staff and retain existing workers.

Opal HealthCare offers $5,000 scholarships to staff embarking on tertiary studies that benefit their work and career, and bring joy to Opal residents. Popular courses for grant recipients have been Bachelor of Nursing, Graduate Certificate in Aged Care Management, and Diploma of Dementia Care.
