The Federal Department of Health has released its long-awaited shadow assessments as well as new resources for providers on the upcoming Australian National Aged Care Classifications (AN-ACC) funding reforms.
As we reported here, the shadow assessments commenced in April 2021 but further COVID-19 outbreaks have seen delays in the assessment process and release of results.
Providers can now access the outcome of AN-ACC shadow assessments via the My Aged Care portal; the Department has also published more information about the reform, including measures from the Federal Budget such as starting price, base care tariff changes and transition support.
“We encourage providers to visit the residential aged care funding reform and the funding reform resources webpages for the latest information.
“This includes fact sheets, FAQs and an AN-ACC Transition Support Plan outlining the resources, financial support and other services available to help providers transition to the new AN-ACC funding model from 1 October 2022,” the Department said.
The average AN-ACC figure will be set at $216.80 per day from 1 October 2022, as detailed in the 2022-23 Budget, which will give providers around $225 per resident per day when combined with last July’s Basic Daily Fee increase; however, providers will also be subject to more scrutiny.
