Odyssey appoint Multiplex to build its $127M 19-storey Chevron Island private aged care retirement village

Phil Usher is hoping to have his luxury lifestyle care community on Chevron Island in Gold Coast’s Surfers Paradise built in 2025 after appointing construction company Multiplex to build the 19-storey tower.

The project includes a total of 167 apartments which will be a mixture of one-, two- and three- bedroom residences with additional penthouse options available for seniors, as well as Memory Lane, a level dedicated to seniors with cognitive impairments.

Phil’s first Memory Lane was opened at his Odyssey community in Robina, also on the Gold Coast, in February.

He said the Chevron Island development will be built to reflect the current living needs of seniors, based around feedback from the Robina community.

“Since Robina opened in mid-2020, we’ve learnt a lot about seniors’ living preferences and have found many residents are keen for a variety of options when it comes to space,” Phil said.

“We’re delivering the ideal blend of retirement and aged care, with no waiting lists and you don’t need to move again as all the services are delivered to you as needed into your home from our dedicated on-site care team.

“This is a refreshing approach to what most people think aged care is, as you don’t need to be frail to live with us, and if you own your home now, affordability to live with us at Odyssey should be no problem.”
