Port Macquarie Not For Profit Garden Village has a waiting list of 120 people for its latest independent retirement living building, The Banksia, which has 35 units.
CEO Craig Wearne said he was ringing the 120 people weekly as the three-storey The Banksia is scheduled for completion by builders BESIX Watpac in May next year. Garden Village already has Cascades, Port Macquarie’s only vertical retirement living community, and its main building, The Classics.
Villages.com.au lists 19 retirement living and retirement villages in Port Macquarie on the NSW Mid North Coast, so why is Garden Villages’ new build so popular?
“We have been in the area over 40 years. The board is local, the leadership team is local, and 70% of The Banksia builders are local.
“I call the 120 names on the list weekly and no-one is dropping out.”
