The first sod on the $70 million Over 50s land lease community Palm Lake Resort Pelican Waters on QLD’s Sunshine Coast, was turned in August last year.
Palm Lake Resort Sales Manager Alysia Nechvoglod told Sunshine Coast News building can now start and the resort would have a revised opening date.
“Up to this point, it’s been all about earthworks and civils,” she said.
“The first homes and facilities will be next with a new opening date anticipated early in 2023.
“Of course, that is contingent on the weather conditions.”

Palm Lake developed a c o-development plan for the club as part of the land deal. The Greg Norman-designed golf course is being reconfigured, with the clubhouse being turned into a hotel-style facility available to club members and the public. In addition, there will be a new stand-alone pro shop, training academy, mini golf, pitch and putt, driving range and glass-clad lakeside chapel.
