Construction has begun on Levande’s new $200 million vertical retirement village with co-located aged care in the northern Sydney suburb of Epping.
The 29-storey development will comprise 172 residential apartments and a 132-bed aged care home, as well as amenities such as a clubhouse, a rooftop terrace, a gym, and a private dining room for residents.
It is being built on the site of the Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic parish primary school and church, and will include a new primary school and parish hall as well as retail space, underground parking, and out-of-school care for students.
Levande CEO Suzanne Dvorak (pictured) told the Northern District Times that the project would be a “true community hub” connecting independent seniors, aged care residents, primary school students, and the wider community.
“The design of this community presents an opportunity in which independent living is co-located with aged care, where partners at different life stages will be able to live comfortably together within the same building, and where there is connectivity between the two levels of care.
“This will keep families connected at home and allow residents to age-in-place together,” she said.
Levande is the new branding for Stockland’s former Retirement Living division, which was sold to investment firm EQT earlier this year.
