Lincoln Place lodge plans for Townsville’s first over 50’s land lease community

1 min read

With 21 land lease communities across NSW, Victoria, ACT and Queensland since it began in 2019, the land lease operator started by Ben Hindmarsh and Nicholas Collishaw is seeking to create a 350-home over 50s land lease community in the coastal city in northeastern Queensland.

CEO Paul Yeo also told The Weekly SOURCE it has began negotiations about a community in Gippsland, the region in the southeastern part of Victoria.

"We use a data based system to pinpoint where to go. It is proving successful with more than 3,000 people already calling us home," he said.

Lincoln Place has identified Townsville as a key area for active downsizers based on the urban centre offering comprehensive healthcare, entertainment and cultural activities with proximity to the natural attractions of the coastline, hinterland and Great Barrier Reef.

The Townsville community, if approved, will be called Northern Beaches Lifestyle Estate, and be adjacent to the existing Sanctum community developed by the Maidment Group, located in the aspirational growth area north of Townsville CBD. The operator hopes to start construction in April 2025, and welcome the first residents to the Estate in March 2026.
