Construction has begun on the first stage of homes in Serenitas' new $75 million land lease community in the Scenic Rim, 80km south of Brisbane.

Thyme Lifestyle Resort Canungra will be a boutique over-50s lifestyle community located in the foothills of the heritage-listed Lamington National Park, with two-bedroom homes from $628,000.

"Our plans for this master planned community have been tailored to complement the unique characteristics of the local area whilst also offering people over 50 who are seeking to downsize the opportunity to stay in the region," said Dean Walker, Head of Development for Serenitas.

"Each home will be equipped with water tank storage and solar panels, enabling residents to live more sustainably and lower their everyday energy costs."

The lifestyle resort will feature a luxurious clubhouse which will include a resort swimming pool, cinema, gym, sports bar, pickleball court and more.

“I look forward to welcoming our first homeowners to Thyme Canungra early next year where they will discover a welcoming community where they can share, create and enjoy special moments together,” added Dean.

In October last year, it was announced Mirvac and Pacific Equity Partners Secure Assets had agreed to pay $1.01 billion, for a 47.5% ownership each of Serenitas, with Serenitas CEO Rob Nichols’ Tasman Capital Partners keeping 5%. Serenitas has 28 land lease communities including Thyme Lifestyle Resort Canungra.
