NZ-based retirement village operator Summerset has purchased a seventh Victorian site at Drysdale east of Geelong.

The 9.96-hectare Drysdale site will house a retirement village co-located with an aged care home, and according to CEO Scott Scoullar (pictured), will be well-served by infrastructure and amenities.

“Drysdale is a popular location on the Bellarine Peninsula adjoined with the suburbs of Clifton Springs and Curlewis. It provides excellent access to numerous amenities in the area including Clifton Springs Foreshore Reserve, Clifton Springs Golf Club and the Lake Lorne Recreation Reserve,” he said.

Summerset is also getting ready to begin construction on its second Australian village, at Chirnside Park, after Yarra Ranges Council unanimously voted for its approval.

“It is pleasing to have secured the permit in under nine months which now paves the way for construction to commence in 2023,” said Scott.

Construction is proceeding on Summerset’s first village at Cranbourne North, with the first homes expected to be delivered in 2023.

Summerset has been swiftly expanding its footprint in Victoria since it bought the Cranbourne North site in 2019, with villages under construction or planned for Cranbourne North, Chirnside Park, Torquay, Craigieburn, Oakleigh South, Mirnda, and now Drysdale.
