The former Padman Health Care founder has opened the $30M 145-bed Waterford@Hervey Bay, three hours’ north of Brisbane, the first of five development sites he retained after selling his 900-bed portfolio to Estia as part of Marcus Darville’s Quadrant Private Equity play into aged care back in 2014.
At the time, Padman Health Care, which was established in 1984, was SA’s largest private operator with 13 facilities in SA and QLD.
Mr Padman now says Premier has close to 500 beds in total under the new name including three facilities in development in QLD and one in SA with the next due to open late next year.
