With the Board looking to the future of less poker machine income and submitting a new clubhouse and 55 village apartments, a petition with 800 member signatures and counting is being submitted to Council as a DA objection to the $77 million development.
The central criticism is that the new three-building development will dominate the suburb, despite the buildings being only three storeys high.
The RSL Club lodged the application for the new development in November last year, warning that the seniors’ living was needed to ensure the venue’s financial future.
