Private operator Rockpool opens its latest $44M RAC – reshaping perceptions of aged care

1 min read

The private residential aged care operator has announced completion of its newest aged care home, 150-bed Rockpool Pelican Waters, located on the Sunshine Coast, about 70km north of Brisbane. It will include kitchenettes, Japanese bidets, luxury linen, Vitality & Wellness Centre and Dental Clinic, to name a few enhancements.

The five-level home of 10 ‘small home’ 15-resident communities will have a common lounge and dining area for each community.

Each room will have a small kitchenette, interactive television, multiple distress buttons, recliner chair, study area, private ensuite with Japanese style bidet, and king-single bed with luxury linen.

Rockpool Pelican Waters will offer residential aged care, respite care, a memory support unit and palliative care. Amenities include a Vitality & Wellness Centre, dental studio, café, and beauty salon.

The $44 million project is said to be aimed at “reshaping the community’s perception of aged care” and represents Rockpool’s commitment to “reimagining and redefining” the aged care industry.

Members of the Rockpool executive team, architect Michael Hemmings, and key team members from builders McNab, Ashley Lowe, Levi Carsburg and Adrian Wyatt, conducted a practice run ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the milestone (pictured above).

Rockpool Pelican Waters will take its first residents from 7 November.
