The Not For Profit has submitted a funding application for its 10ha Heritage Park Precinct to the Australian Government's Regional Precincts and Partnership Program (rPPP) - Stream One: Precinct Development and Planning.
The project in Nuriootpa, Barossa Valley, 74km northeast of Adelaide, South Australia, is forecast to create:
- 100 new mixed housing options for older people and a purpose-built community administratiion hub;
- A dementia-friendly design will integrate housing, education, healthcare and community services;
Barossa Village CEO Ben Hall (pictured) said the project has the potential to meet the growing and evolving needs of the ageing population whilst also fostering a multi-generational environment.
The rPPP is a $400 million Australian Government-funded program to support transformative investment in regional, rural and remote Australia. Stream One allows between $500,000 and $5 million to be available for master planning, consultation, design, business cases and partnership establishments. Stream Two will offer between $5 million and $50 million to fund one or more parts of a precinct, such as roads, pavements and buildings.
