Infinite Care Klemzig, 6km north east of the Adelaide CBD, has admitted the first residents under its Care Awaiting Placement (CAPS) program, which provides short-term placements for SA Health patients awaiting a permanent bed in residential aged care.
The program will free up SA Health hospital beds and provide more appropriate care for older patients.
Infinite Care will continue to operate the aged care home at Klemzig independently of the CAPS program.
“We are excited to enhance our relationship with SA Health which will enable enhanced care for the elderly community in South Australia," said Infinite Care CEO Luke Greive.
"Relationships of this nature only enhance the ability of Infinite Care to provide outstanding care to its residents."
It's not the first time Infinite Care has provided aged care beds for hospital patients awaiting permanent aged care placements. Last year, Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service opened a 45-bed ‘ward’ at Infinite Care’s Edge Hill residential aged care facility, in Manoora, a suburb of Cairns.
Infinite Care operates 17 aged care homes across Queensland, South Australia and New South Wales and is rapidly expanding, with several homes planned across Australia, including its new build in Knox, Victoria.
