Retirement and community living
New independent retirement living benchmarking research announced by highly respected StewartBrown – commencing this month

StewartBrown’s Aged Care benchmarking research is the only resource trusted by all governments and the media. This important initiative for the village sector follows the ABC’s 7.30 and social activist media campaign and will provide unchallengeable facts.

Managing Partner of StewartBrown, a leading accounting firm that has been conducting its research since the mid 1990s, Stuart Hutcheon told the ACCPA national conference last Friday their existing client base has close to 1,000 villages to survey, including nine of the top 16 operators in the sector. They will look to build on this base.

Included in the survey will be:

  • Contract Structuring and Sales

  • Unit reinstatement and renovation costs

  • Financial Data

  • Resident demographics

  • Resident services

Stuart stated importantly they intend to position retirement living as social infrastructure and that the firm’s data on home and other care will assist in correlating that positioning.

He identified that new funding resources are required for the sector to resume building at scale and the independent research has been designed to support this funding.

In 2025 a resident survey will also be built into the program to collect real data on the customer experience and tools like the NPS score.

StewartBrown will be contacting their clients over the next two weeks; we will provide more information next week to guide your participation.
