Resthaven, the South Australian aged care community service of the Not For Profit Uniting Church of Australia, has added to its retirement portfolio with the purchase of the multi award-winning On Statenborough, a retirement village in Leabrook, one of Adelaide’s finest heritage suburbs.
On Statenborough was developed by Simon Chappel, the Managing Director of construction services and civil group PT Building Services, together with David Smallacombe, Managing Director of real estate agency Smallacombe Group.
It won the Urban Development Institute of Australia’s Best Seniors Living Project in Australia in 2013. The 134 villa complex, features a chauffeur service and The Clubhouse, and only has one two-bedroom villa on the market, for $695,000.
In a letter to residents in the over 55s apartments, Resthaven CEO Darren Birbeck, Chappel and Smallacombe announced the sale and two meetings to explain the purchase.
“Resthaven is pleased to advise it has purchased the Village and will assume operation of The Village in the near future. Resthaven has an experienced and professional management team that looks forward to continuing the operation of The Village in a seamless manner,” the letter states.
“Resthaven advises that it does not propose any changes to charges fees or levies currently paid by residents outside of usual annual indexation.”
There are six Resthaven Independent Retirement Living Unit complexes across South Australia.
